Most Pieces made from a Single Cucumber

Dr S. Ramesh Babu (born on 12th February 1957) from Karnataka, India manually cut a single cucumber into 1,20,060 pieces in 2 Hr. 12 Min. 21 Sec., at Ananya, Bangalore (Karnataka), India on 5th April 1998. A cucumber weighing 1070 g and a measured length of 32 cm along the contour was first to cut into 80 circular slices and each slice was given counted vertical and horizontal cuts. By using these counted numbers of vertical and horizontal cuts in the ready reference table of numbers generated using a computer software specially developed for solving the mathematical equations governing the cucumber cutting process, the total number of cut pieces of each slice was readily obtained.
