Largest Kite Flown by Individual

Dr S. Ramesh Babu (born on 12th February 1957) from Karnataka, India is credited for having flown the Largest Kite single-handedly, without using any flying aids, at Muthyalanagar, Bangalore, on 2 March 1996. The 15 feet x 15 feet square shaped kite weighing 3.262 Kg was made of a thin plastic sheet using aluminium, chrome-plated steel and PVC pipe ribs. The kite together with the 15 feet x 1.33 ft thin plastic tail had a surface area of 245 sq. ft., and was flown without anybody’s assistance using a 52.38-meter long nylon rope of 4 mm diameter.
