Paraplegic Walking Marathon

Akash Dilip Kumbhar (Born on 28th January 1984) from Maharashtra, India paraplegic since 20th August 2006 created the record “Paraplegic Walking Marathon” by covering a distance of 42.195 km with the help of a Walker and knee ankle foot orthosis (KAFO) in 7 days. Marathon was started on 1st December 2014 and finished on 7th December 2014 at Nehru Stadium, Pune, Maharashtra, India. For the safety concern, Sancheti Institute for Orthopedic & Rehabilitation provided full medical support with their team.
