Longest Distance Run Wearing a Saree – 100 km
Dr. Dhruti Bal from Odisha and residing in Karnataka, India, achieved the record for the “Longest Distance Run Wearing a Saree – 100 km” by completing a 100 km ultramarathon in 16 hours, 02 minutes, and 50 seconds while wearing a cotton Bichitrapuri saree from Sambalpur, Odisha, followed by a Pen Kalamkari saree, at the Invincible Women Ultra Run 2026, organised by Zydus Pinkathon, held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, on 24 January 2026. The attempt was officially timed and verified according to the event guidelines, symbolising endurance, cultural pride, and women’s empowerment.
