Grown Jasmine Plant with the Longest Branch

Dr S. Ramesh Babu (born on 12th February 1957) from Karnataka, India planted a Jasmine (Nitya Mallige) plant sapling in his Tatanagar residential garden in June 2003 at the portico entrance and nurtured it. He started uniquely manoeuvring them all intentionally to have it vertically spread out to 18 feet width along the portico and grow to a height of 16 ½ feet reaching the portico terrace and then to horizontally spread there with a maximum width of 11 ½ feet on the portico terrace. Remarkably, one of the branches supported to further grow up towards the second-floor terrace grew to a total length of 36 ½ feet measured as of July 2008. With hundreds of fragrant Jasmine flowers blooming all over the plant, the shrub deceives the onlookers by appearing like a tree.
